CNWL celebrates LGBT+ History Month
6 February 2019
The Trust marked the start of LGBT+ History Month and nine years of its LGBT+ network with a celebration event hosted by Director of Nursing and Quality, Andy Mattin, and Peter Smith, a Pride@CNWL network committee member and former chair of the network. The Trust is the top gay-friendly healthcare employer in this year’s Stonewall index.
The theme for LGBT+ History Month 2019 is Peace, Reconciliation, Activism. The Trust has activities planned for staff throughout the month.
CNWL staff are participating in an annual art exhibition. Join us for the opening night preview on Friday 1 February at The Conference Centre, St Pancras Hospital, St Pancras Way, London, NW1 0PE from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. The exhibition will continue from 4 February to 12 April, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
A display of this years’ LGBT+ History Month information is at the Trust’s headquarters and at services across the organisation (example on the right).
CNWL staff also are invited to a screening of a film called Pride presented by LGBTQI Network London North West University Hospital NHS Trust at Northwick Park Hospital on Tuesday 12 February from 5pm. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Mike Jackson, Secretary for Lesbian and Gays Support the Miners. The event is free and can be booked via Eventbrite.
LGBT+ History Month will conclude with a short celebration and social gathering on Thursday 28 February from 4.30pm to 5.30pm to announce the winners of the 2019 quiz and the recipient of the Pride@CNWL Challenge Cup. The awards will be hosted and winners announced by Andy Mattin, Director of Nursing and Quality. Staff can enter the quiz on Survey Monkey.
